Weddings can be held in many places these days, but church weddings offer something more. The churches in our Benefice have hosted joyful celebrations of marriage for hundreds of years and provide an occasion on which the couple can receive God’s blessing for their new life together.

The vicar will usually meet each couple twice before the wedding to consider the commitment they are undertaking, as well as the practicalities of their wedding day. The practicalities may well include the banns of marriage, order of service, music, flowers, and bells, among other things.
